In the midst of the booming food biz here in town, a new restaurant has opened its doors to all Ormocanons. This is the Chic Chop Restaurant. Although, you have seen their stalls in some corners of Ormoc serving crispy fried chicken using herbs and spices, this time they offer different dishes in a much more relaxed setting. Just to give you a quick overview of what they are offering; they have included the best-tasting Italian pasta in Cebu City.
The ambiance is relaxing. perfect for chitchatting with pals . It also an ideal place preparing for an exam with your classmates while you stuff your stomach with what they are offering since the place is near Western Leyte College and ACLC Ormoc. A good hideout from the bustling street outside.
They offer authentic Italian green and black pasta served with different twists from classic spaghetti sauce to filipino-style pesto. I mainly love their pasta because the texture is just something that you will always look for when you crave for it, not saggy but Al dente. Perfectly cooked to make it firm and tender in every bite. The duet of the different flavors of the sauce they are offering and the pasta itself is a must-try.
Aside from pasta, they also offer different salad dishes like Garden salad, Chicken Ranch salad, Ceasar's salad, Tuna Salad and Chicken pasta salad. My favorite is the chicken pasta salad. Its a mix of cucumber, lettuce, corn, fusilli pasta, honey mustard sauce, grilled chicken and a distinguishable sauce that adds up to its overall flavor profile. The prices are cheap; all below P150. They also have a pool of sandwich selections; Carolina Sub, Chicken ranch Sub, Tuna Mayo Sub and BBQ Chicken sub. I would recommend all but, I suggest to start digging the taste of Chicken Ranch Sub. It's a different taste from other sandwiches offered by cafes. It is made by vegetables, sweet corn , ranch sauce and mozarella. It has my favorite grilled tomato that is giving its umami taste. All sandwiches are priced P60.
Desserts like mango graham delight and halo-halo are also available. Special Pastil (Firs to offer in Ormoc City), Pizza and Fresh sugar cane juice are also there. Their food and place are highly recommended. If you want to try a unique eating experience, they are just located beside the Development Bank of the Philippines Ormoc, near Western Leyte College and ACLC Ormoc. _________________________________________
